Disney has been making a habit of re-releasing content as of late. With them doing live-action remakes of famous films such as Aladdin and Lion King this year, they have now followed this recent success off with remaking their respective games.
The games were released alongside their respective films back in 1993 and 1994. Both games sold over four million copies worldwide on release, so it’s easy to see why Disney think these games could do well again on the current-gen. Both games were sold on the SNES, Sega Genesis and Game Boy and all of these versions are available on the re-released versions of the game. Alongside the original versions you can play it with updated graphics and mechanics, or you can try to complete The Lion King after years of trying finally.
The games also come with a watch mode that allows you to jump to any point in the game and take over which looks really fun and can be a great feature for the speed run community. You also get to enjoy all your favourite Disney classical songs in all their old school glory. It even has a behind the scenes documentary of how the games were made for those interested.
Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King will be released on 1st November 2019 on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
