Just recently spotted was a poster showing a much sooner than we then we thought release date of the much anticipated The Witcher. Redanian Intelligence, while visiting the MCM London Comic Con, spotted the poster next to photo booth at the convention.
Set to debut on December 16th, according to the poster the show will supposedly premiere in theaters and then be available to all on Netflix the very next day, December 17th.
Yes, you read that right, there will be a red carpet premiere on December 16. As with that other big fantasy show, these premieres show only the first episode.
So the release date for everyone else is definitely December 17? pic.twitter.com/kgFwJXx7Z8

A teaser trailer is currently available to watch, but a proper trailer is coming tomorrow 31 October.

Even though this poster most likely just wouldn’t be thrown around at such a convention, no word of this has been confirmed from Netflix or anyone working directly with the project.
The actress Freya Allan who is set to play Ciri in the upcoming show, states that the version of her character is “colder and tougher”, after learning about the hard living conditions that are present outside of the castle walls. Also, production designer Andrew Laws stated that this show will not be the “the poor cousin of Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones”. Certainly an exciting experience to look forward to. (Thanks VideoGamer).
Officially though, the Witcher Netflix adaptation does not yet have a confirmed date, but if this is true, it would be very exciting indeed for us over here at DGR.
